Imbolc: Imbolc is a Celtic festival which honours Brighid, the Goddess of poetry, smiths, healers and fire. It’s celebrated on February 2nd. It’s a time of year to give your attention to creative projects, the healing arts and productivity. Use this meditation on or around Imbolc. After the meditation, try journalling, drawing or crafting.

Beltane: Beltane is the festival of sexuality and fertility. The Maypole is a common symbol associated with this festival, and represents the phallus, with the wreath on top symbolising the yoni. Beltane is a time for passion, growth, strength and exploring one’s sexuality, whatever that may be. Use this meditation on or around Beltane. Try taking a sensuous bath before the meditation and have some favourite food ready to eat afterwards. Please note, this meditation contains explicit imagery.

Lughnasadh: Lughnasadh is celebrated on August 1st and is the first of three harvest festivals in the Celtic calendar; the grain harvest. It honours the Celtic God Lugh. A symbol of Lugh, often called John Barleycorn is sacrificed in traditional celebrations at this time. It is a time to review your ongoing projects and the progress you are making. Use this meditation on or around Lughnasadh. Try eating a meal containing corn (or other grain products) after the meditation.

Samhain: Samhain is the Celtic precursor to the modern Hallowe’en, and the third harvest festival of the year, the harvest of meat. Traditionally, this is when animals were slaughtered and their meat preserved to see families through the winter. Of course, it is also known as the time of year when ancestors are honoured and remembered, a celebration, but a solemn celebration. Use this meditation on around Samhain. You may like to incorporate it into a ritual or group celebration. Note that the sections of dancing in this meditation can be physical or mental dancing.

All spoken meditation in a clear, British accent, with gentle background music.
