When the week looks heavy, call in strength with a smile. Hanuman energy is loyal, light-footed and wildly resilient — courage without the chest-thumping, devotion without the burnout.
This week’s mantra:
Om Hanumate Namaha
Pronounced: om huh-NOO-mah-tay nah-MAH-hah
Theme for the week: Courage, devotion and cheerful stamina.
Hanuman reminds us that strength can be playful; service can be joyful; and big tasks get lighter when we do them from the heart instead of from fear.

How to practise (gentle and simple)
- Take your mala and let your breath lengthen by a whisker.
- Start at the bead next to the guru bead (we don’t count the guru).
- One bead, one repetition: Om Hanumate Namaha.
- Keep the jaw soft; let the sound ride the exhale at an easy, steady pace.
- When you reach the bead before the guru, pause 30–60 seconds. Ask: Where do I feel 2% braver or brighter?
One round is 108 repetitions, typically 6–8 minutes at a relaxed pace. If time’s tight, do half a mala; consistency over perfection.
- Om – the spacious yes of life.
- Hanumate – to Hanuman, archetype of courageous devotion and nimble strength.
- Namaha – I bow / I honour.
In human terms:
💛 I meet the day with heart and humour.
💛 My strength serves what I love.
💛 I can be powerful and kind at the same time.
Little notes from the practice room
- If self-doubt pipes up, add quietly: “…and I’m willing to try anyway.”
- Visual cue: with each repetition, imagine placing one sure, light step on a path that rises to meet you.
- After chanting, pick one practical act of heart-led courage (e.g., send the email, make the call, price your work fairly, ask for help).
A gentle cultural bow
Hanuman is cherished in the Vedic tradition as the embodiment of devoted courage and service. We chant with respect and gratitude to the lineages and teachers who carried these sounds. If deity language isn’t your flavour, meet Hanuman as a quality of consciousness – joyful strength in service of love.
Before you begin: “May my strength be joyful.”
After you finish: “What’s the kind, courageous action I can take today?”
One more bead for the road:
Om Hanumate Namaha – strength with a soft grin. 🐒
