This is for enlightenment - spiritual enlightenment but also enlightening the mind and the intellect.

Gāyatrī Devī is connected with sacred knowledge, devotion, concentration and the light of wisdom. The Gāyatrī Mantra is one of the most loved and widely used mantras in Hindu practice. It is often understood as a prayer for illumination: may our minds be guided towards truth, wisdom and right understanding.

For Monday Mantra, we’re not using this as a demand for answers. We’re using it as a way to turn towards light. When life feels noisy, confusing or heavy, this mantra invites us to pause and ask: what helps me see more clearly?

Skanda is often described as a warrior deity, but for mantra practice we don’t need to take that literally. This is not about aggression or fighting. It is about courage, focus, strategy and the wise use of strength.

You might use this mantra when you need confidence, direction, discipline, or the courage to meet what is in front of you without losing yourself.

The sun doesn’t ask us to be perfect. It simply shines, and in that light we can see more clearly.

Monday Mantra to Shiva – for steadiness, release Monday Mantra to Shiva -

for steadiness, release and returning to yourself. Use it when you need to pause, breathe, and loosen your grip on what you can't control.

Shiva reminds us that we can meet our difficult feelings without being completely consumed by them. Feel them, and release them.

As this video shows, mantra practice is not about coming to practice just when it feels easy; it's about coming to practice when it's needed, when it's difficult, when you're struggling. So with that said, I'm not going to apologise for being emotional in this video. Today's mantra practice was incredibly hard for me, and very much needed.

This mantra can be used when we need to pause, breathe, and loosen our grip on what we can't control.

Shiva reminds us that we can meet difficult feelings without becoming completely consumed by them.

A mantra to the goddess of abundance - in all things. Money, of course, but also good health, love, opportunities, career progression etc.

Tomorrow's Monday Mantra will be to Maha Lakshmi. Tomorrow's Monday Mantra will be to Maha Lakshmi. It's been a few months since we visited Lakshmi and it feels like time again. 

Lakshmi is the goddess of abundance - financial abundance of course, but also abundance in health, love, opportunities, whatever it is you need more of.
