Description

Thunder drums are wonderfully dramatic little instruments that create a surprisingly realistic thunder sound. Hold the tube section and allow the metal spring to hang freely, then gently shake the drum from side to side. The spring vibrates through the body of the instrument, creating a deep rumbling sound that feels like a distant storm rolling in.

Play it gently for soft atmospheric thunder, or shake it more vigorously for a louder, booming thunderclap.

These thunder drums are handmade in Bali and decorated with colourful hand-painted dot designs. Each one is slightly different, making every instrument unique.

They are brilliant for sound healing sessions, meditation, storytelling, ceremony, sensory play, creative sound effects, or adding a bit of stormy theatre to your percussion kit. You can also experiment with other sounds by tapping or touching the spring while it vibrates. All of our gong students require a thunder drum.
